The Bennebroekerbuurt Route (red) from starting point Zwaanshoek travels through the old countryside along the Ringvaart of the Haarlemmermeer Polder. The land opposite the bridge to Bennebroek was called Bennebroekerbuurt until the middle of the last century. Rightly so, because the grounds in question were shorelands of Bennebroek until the digging of the ring canal.
